What an enlarged prostate is (and isn't)
The prostate is a small gland that sits just below the bladder. As many men get older, it slowly gets larger. That's it—no drama, no failure. It's one of the most common things that happens to a healthy male body over time.
A larger prostate can gently press on the tube that carries urine out of the body, which is why the symptoms show up where they do. This is a mechanical, day-to-day comfort issue for most men—it isn't cancer, and it isn't caused by anything you did.
The goal isn't to fix a body part. It's to feel more in control of your day and your sleep.
